ARHITEKT JURE BEŠLIĆ

ARHITEKT JURE BEŠLIĆ is a one-man architectural practice founded just four days before the launch of the “special military operation” against a neighbouring sovereign state. Through high professional standards and thoughtful, rational design, the practice seeks to strengthen the standing of the architectural profession in the local community. To that end, it invests heavily in professional development, from architectural theory to practical training, and in the software tools that support its work. This helps it keep pace with contemporary architectural practice in Croatia and abroad. The knowledge gained is put to the test every day on projects of varying scales. Design constraints are critically examined, while solutions are developed and refined in parallel. Behind the name ARHITEKT JURE BEŠLIĆ—nomen est omen—stands one man. And that is how it will stay. In keeping with the Rule of Two from a galaxy far, far away, there is room at his side for just one apprentice, eager to learn the craft. Backed by share capital and grants from the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ), and driven by intrinsic motivation and amor fati, the practice is now in its fifth year of pushing its boulder uphill. © AJB 2026
